We are currently in the midst of campaign season here at the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County. With the present state of the economy our community needs help now more than ever; and we are doing the best we can to make this campaign season as successful as possible.

We know that many of you who work for a company with a United Way workplace campaign may have started your campaign, or will be starting soon. Sometimes it’s confusing to know how much to give. Really, the answer is as much as you feel comfortable with. We appreciate anything that you can give, and never want to make anyone feel uncomfortable.

If you would like to give based on income, we have a reference chart available for giving ranges. This is just a suggestion, and varies person to person and based on financial situations.

$15,000 – $20,000 1% – 2% $150 – $400
$20,000 – $30,000 1% – 2% $200 – $600
$30,000 – $40,000 2% – 3% $600 – $1,200

$90,000 – $100,000 5% – 6% $4,500 – $6,000
$100,000 – $150,000 8% $8,000 – $12,000
$150,00 and above 10% $15,000 and above

* Please note that this is a suggested range.  We realize that everyone has different financial circumstances.

If you don’t work for a company with a workplace campaign, you can still give online, print out a pledge card and mail it in, or give at a local Wegmans during their LIVE UNITED cash out campaign.

Remember, when you donate you are giving back to your community, your neighbors, and over 80 local programs. You should be proud of yourself, we sure are.
