Recently we’ve decided to hang up some old pictures around our building. We have pictures of all of our old board chairs and Campaign chairs, and we thought it would be nice to display them in the building. Though we’ve had the pictures for years, it has been more than ten years since anyone has even looked at them until we brought them out for hanging.

As we took out portrait after portrait it was like watching history progress. So many faces looked familiar, members of our community from years past. Not only were these people on our board, they were leaders in our community; leaders that had shaped history not only for United Way but for Buffalo.

Seeing all these old photos made us really appreciate our past, and look forward to the future. There were so many stories behind each portrait, and so much reminiscing to be done. One day future generations will do the same, and we want them to be proud of the work that we’ve accomplished – just as we are proud of our predecessors.
