As we celebrate the holidays with our family and friends there are many in the community who cannot afford to. 14.6% of families in our community cannot afford regular meals. You can make a difference. Walmart has made a commitment to donate $2 billion by 2015 to the fight against hunger in America. This holiday, they are deciding based on votes where $1.5 billion goes. All it takes to vote is a “Like” on Facebook. The community with the most “Likes” will receive $1 million. The next five most supported communities will receive $100,000. The Food bank of Western New York is currently voted number six, and we would love for them to come in first.
Thousands of people rely on our local food bank when they cannot afford to eat, and this donation would make a significant difference for them, and our community. Take a second to vote now, and make a difference.
